Sisters with their grandfather – rough layout

A big stick in hand and grimacing for the camera, that’s my mother for you. Full of mischief on “picture day” with her sister and grandfather. I couldn’t help myself and fussed with this painting more than the previous paintings in my last post. Even though these are just rough layouts mostly consisting of thin washes, I just had to get the expressions right, or as close to “right” to satisfy me at this stage, especially with my great grandfather. I have two more yet to start for this black and white collection and will get them posted here soon.
